Unfortunately, only 13 boxers took home the Golden Gloves. Our very own, Joey Higgins and Patrick Day, FHS 1979 & 2010 respectively, worked hard and long to make it to the finals.... The finals were held at the world famous Madison Square Garden. Patrick boxed for three action packed rounds. He was tough and tenacious. However, the judges awarded his opponent the win. Patrick demonstrated good sportsmanship and is Freeport's champ!
